After taking a break from the financial industry, I first jumped into teaching as a substitute with no expectation that my career would permanently shift into the high school teaching space. While the memories of that first year are still fresh, I thought I’d spend this first blog reflecting on a couple of things that helped me adjust to my first year as a teacher.
Teachers thrive on control. We even measure much of our success on mastery of controlled variables. So what happens when we are thrown into the unknown and lose much of that control? Let’s learn from the Stoics.
